Karleen brings a rare blend of legal expertise and genuine compassion to Free Spirit CAMBS. Holding an LLB (Bachelor of Laws). She is deeply committed to ensuring that every survivor we support feels informed, empowered, and confident in understanding their rights within the UK legal framework. Karleen has a particular strength in translating complex safeguarding legislation into clear, meaningful guidance that reflects the real-life experiences of those affected by domestic abuse, exploitation, and Modern Slavery. Her work is driven by a desire to offer clarity, reassurance, and stability, helping individuals move forward and reclaim their future with confidence. Meet Rachael, our domestic abuse survivor and thriver. Rachael believes that we can all overcome abuse and create a better life for ourselves and families. Her passion is to help survivors through the healing process by, facilitating CBT focused courses that she knows from personal experience through recovery works. LAUREN PLANT
Administrator & Participant Coordinator
Lauren brings warmth, care, and a strong foundation in administration and safeguarding to our CIC. As a Volunteer Administrator supporting the Freedom Programme, she plays an important role in helping survivors access information and services safely and with confidence. Drawing on her background in family and community support and her trauma-informed approach, Lauren is committed to creating a calm, organised, and supportive environment where people feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered.

Moderator/ Online Community Support
Nikki brings a calm, caring presence to our online community as a Moderator and Online Community Supporter. With a strong background in handling sensitive information and engaging with people respectfully, she helps ensure our online spaces remain safe, welcoming, and supportive. Nicola is approachable, highly organised, and deeply committed to creating an environment where everyone feels heard, respected, and supported.

Elena brings a warm, empathetic presence to her work, supported by over a decade of experience in coaching, childcare, and education. With a strong foundation in personal development and a growing academic focus in counselling, mental health, and wellbeing, she is committed to supporting individuals in a respectful and meaningful way. Elena is highly organised, approachable, and confident in communicating with a wide range of people, demonstrated through her role as a Student Class Representative. She is dedicated to creating safe, supportive environments where individuals feel valued, understood, and empowered to grow

MARIA KEEP
Moderator/ Online Community Support
Maria is passionate about supporting women in a safe and nurturing space where they can share their experiences and learn to navigate their journey towards a more empowered way of living. Alongside this, she also supports with young people on a voluntary bases, Maria feels very spiritually connected and offers tarot readings for people 18+ to those who feel they need, alongside hosting spiritual growth workshops and somatic breath work to help others regulate when anxious supporting them to connect more deeply with themselves and their path.

EMMA SIMMONDS
Safeguarding Lead
Emma has over 20 years experience of working in safeguarding, leading safeguarding teams and training other professionals to recognise when someone is at risk and how to take appropriate action. Emma also has for many years worked with families with children on child protection plans and supported and advised the families through the process and advocating on their behalf. Emma works hard to support all those she works with, ensuring they feel they are seen, recognised, valued and heart. At the heart of everything she does is a passion to see people feel safe enough and supported enough to become whoever they choose to be and to live life to the fullest.
Meet our silent members. These survivors, who prefer not to be named for personal and safety reasons, are just as awesome as the rest of the team. They contribute within the courses, workshops and support victims behind the scenes. They believe in privacy, confidentiality and a safe, non judgmental place to open up.
